What is the Service Fee?

A host service fee to help us run the away.rentals platform and services smoothly, we charge hosts a service fee of 5% for direct bookings on away.rentals plus any local and sales taxes, with every booking. The service fee allows us to offer a concierge dedicated team away.rentals that offers support  as well as customer support.

NOTE: Our service fees do NOT include channel partner commissions (Airbnb, Booking.com, etc.).

How the payments works?

You should receive your payment on the Friday after the guest’s check-in following a grace period of 24 hours. This means you’ll have your payment between 1 and 8 days after check-in.

What happens in case of damages?

We are there to help resolve your disputes personally and have a dedicated and hands-on customer service team who are there to protect both our hosts and our guests. As a host, you can set the security deposit for your property. Upon booking, our guests agree with our Terms of Service which state that they’re responsible for any damage. In the event of damage, all you need to do is notify away.rentals and the guest within 48 hours of checkout. In appropriate cases we will then seek to charge the guest’s payment card. We will offer you our hands-on customer service team who are there to protect both our hosts and our guests. For added security, we offer the option to require ID verification for guests.

What happens if I have to cancel a booking?

Our promise is to match guests with the best homes and hosts in the world for an incredible stay experience. To fulfil that promise, we’re looking for hosts who honour their bookings, day in, and day out.

 

In the event of host cancellation:

  • In addition to refunding the full accommodation charges, you will also need to pay a penalty fee/amount equivalent to 20% of the accommodation charges for the booking.

  • We reserve the right to reduce or not charge this amount based on the circumstances of the cancellation in our sole discretion.

Can I continue to host on other platforms?

Yes, of course. We do not require exclusivity, and we have features that allow you to easily manage your listing across multiple platforms, such as calendar sync.

How do I synchronize my calendar between booking platforms?

We use iCal links to synchronise calendars across various platforms. iCal is a standardized calendar format that is widely accepted and used by other platforms like Airbnb, Booking.com, Homeaway, and VRBO. It’s simple and only requires pasting your iCal links from your other booking platforms into your account calendar.

Guests communication?

Responding to guests as quickly as possible is the key to getting more bookings and maintaining a good reputation. Away.rentals has a message system that allows you to communicate with guests on direct bookings. Alternative we have our teams respond 24/7/365 and trained to deal with all questions and issues both before and during stays.

Can I cancel my account at any time?

There are no fixed terms or time commitments required! Since we only make money when you do, using away.rentals is a no-risk option. You’re free to stop using the service at any time, provided you have no outstanding bookings or fees to pay.
